Donna Slade spent years in the corporate world as a graphic artist. She now pours those skills into her passion for detailed and believable artwork with everything she draws. She considers her style and approach to portrait work to be “unorthodox”, though still realistic. That approach also spills over into her still life and landscape work.

Her tutorial features an unlikely subject: a cotton boll. But the subject showcases her unique method of creating the style of contemporary realism that has become her trademark. The tutorial uses Prismacolor Premier pencils on Ampersand Pastelbord.
