Challenges: change kitchen towel surface still life set up to sand by the beach. Capture sister’s shells collection, her granddaughter as a child, and being reminded just how quickly time moves on.
Story: Precious moments slip away, like black sand through the hourglass. Memories are gathered and savored, seashells remind of treasured times and are kept close to the heart. Some dreams drift just beyond reach, whispering what could have been. This piece is a gentle reminder: time moves on, yet love and wonder remain. Follow your heart, cherish the good times, make room for more, and follow your dreams.

“For this piece, my focus was on the intricate reflections in the chrome grille. The polished metal not only reflects the surrounding environment of the car show but also captures a distorted, almost hidden glimpse of myself, the artist, in the process of documenting the piece. The drawing is a celebration of both the car’s customized beauty and the interplay of light and reflection that brings it to life.”

Laguna Nimez is based on a photo I took on a trip to the Laguna Nimez Nature Reserve in El Calafate, Argentina. I used a ‘batik’ technique I learned in a workshop with Amy Lindenberger. The treatment of the paper didn’t allow for the sharp details I usually draw, and I found it a nice change to draw a more abstract piece. Most of the flowers and some grasses were added using watercolor. I hope my piece reflects the peaceful feeling of the nature reserve.
