About CP Magic October 2026

Featured Artist: Kelly Almer

Interview

Kelly Almer has been an artist from an early age. She began with acrylics purchased by her parents, but is now a dedicated colored pencil artist. Her subjects include intricately detailed city scenes, whimsical holiday subjects, and more serious pet and animal portraits. She also teaches and creates gift items based on her colored pencil artwork.

Tutorial

Her tutorial is very appropriate to the season, featuring a steaming cup of something yummy, pumpkins, and a rustic window showing the colors of autumn through glass panes. There are opportunities to draw a blurred background, steam, and some lovely still life elements.
