It’s time for studio news for June 2025, but…
Unlike many months, there isn’t much to tell.
That’s because on June 17, I got whatever bug was going around this part of Kansas and, quite honestly, it knocked me for a loop! I lost a week of work on everything and it’s only by the grace of God and helpful artist friends and contributors that the July issue of CP Magic published on time. Thank you to everyone who helped!

CP Magic! News
Maria Deely is one of those people who, if her art doesn’t impress you, her attitude toward life and hardship will. She started her art business while still in college. That alone is more than most artists want to consider.
But she has also overcome or learned to live and work with health issues that would stop many people in their tracks. Her tenacity is a shining example to all of us.
Maria’s tutorial is a peaceful, evening beach scene. It’s written for advanced artists, but can be successfully completed by any artist at any level who likes a challenge.
The July issue is available in digital and print formats.

Current Works in Progress
Due to that illness I mentioned at the beginning, none of the current works-in-progress made any progress in June.
Early in the month, I worked on coloring pages. As you may recall, I started doing coloring pages in May when I ran out of inspiration for fine art. I finished two of them in June.
The second one was a little more organized in color placement. I also experimented a little with strokes, pressure, and covering the paper. Not fine art, but still art. I was glad to have something to show for the month!
By the way, both drawings were finished early in the month. They are also both my designs.
Drawing Time for the Month
The goal for drawing time in June was 22 hours. Despite everything and thanks to going crazy on coloring pages the first two weeks in June, I ended the month with 22 hours and 40 minutes.
Looking to the Future
At present, looking to the future involves the August and September issues of CP Magic, and future blog posts. That’s just about all I have the energy for!
The original illness is gone. It lasted less than a week, but I’m now dealing with a lingering cough that interferes with sleep and with work. My doctor tells me it’s part of the program this time around, and I’m hearing the same from others.
So I’m doing what I can and resting when I need to. That’s what makes those coloring pages so handy. Can you believe I have three in progress?
That’s the Studio News for June 2025
And that’s all the studio news for June. I almost skipped it because the news was so light. But life happens to all of us. I hope if you’re going through something right now, you can find a way to keep it from getting you down.
