Interview
Lis Zadravec is a story teller who uses colored pencils to tell her stories. Although she strives for realism, she also achieves a painterly affect with her artwork by incorporating her training and experience as an oil painter into her colored pencil work. Consequently, her style is recognizable even before viewers see her signature.
Tutorial
Lis loves ducks in cool greenish water, so that’s the focus of her tutorial. But she uses a pencil brand that most artists may not be familiar with: Koh-I-Noor Hardmuth Polycolor pencils. Her support of choice is Canson Mi-Teintes, the back of which she uses to create colored pencil artwork with a painterly look. You’ll also see how she combines photos to create unique compositions.

But it is important to know when it’s in your best interest (and a potential client’s) to say “no”. Carrie also shares a few ways to say “no” politely and without burning bridges.
