Featured Artist: Kim Keys
Kim loves using colored pencils to convey the beauty of creation around her and the things she loves. Her goal with each piece is to create artwork that inspires others. Her style is more painterly than you may be accustomed to seeing, and it arises from her background as an oil painter.
In the interview portion of this issue, she talks about her life as an artist and the journey that led her to where she is today: Artist, teacher, and a source of encouragement for artists at all levels.
Kim’s tutorial is a straight forward introduction to using a reptile heating pad in the creation of art. It focuses more on the technique itself than on rendering the pumpkin, but of course, you can do both.
