Interview

Maria was born on the small historic island of Salamis, nested away in the inlet of the Saronic Gulf. Now she lives in Athens, Greece. Her background includes fashion design and freehand drawing and she’s worked with a variety of mediums. But colored pencils and graphite are her favorites, and are the focus of her artwork and teaching.

Tutorial

Maria’s tutorial is a lovely heart-shaped lock and key in which she shows you how to create realism with a few basic colors over a blue under drawing. It’s a great weekend or week-long project that you can complete with colors you probably already have on hand.
