Are You Having Fun Making Art?
It takes time to make art with any medium. It takes an especially long time with colored pencils, so you have to be dedicated to your work. Is it also important that you enjoy the process? Carrie talks about that subject in the featured article for this month.
Shading Exercises for Smoother Color
The key to blending smooth color with colored pencils is shading smooth color. The more smoothly you can apply color to your paper, the better the final results. Carrie shares shading exercises for three different strokes to help you shade the smoothest possible color on any paper with any pencil. She concludes the exercises with a comparison of those three strokes so you can see how they are similar and how they differ.
