August 2018: I’ve Always Wanted to Draw Clouds

I’ve Always Wanted to Draw Clouds

Tuition: $20

In this class, you’ll learn how to draw clouds in a blue sky from the initial sketch to the final layers of color. Work from a provided reference photo (at left) to draw realistic clouds with strong light and shadow and accurate color that look like they’re part of the sky.

Course Materials:

Colored pencils (any brand) and drawing paper or a sketch pad.





September 2018: I’ve Always Wanted to Draw from Life

Tuition: $20

Master the basics of drawing directly from life. Learn how to reduce any subject to the most basic shapes, add the big details to create a resemblance, then develop the additional details that make your subject unique. Once you understand and can implement these lessons, you’ll be able to draw anything freehand from life with a reasonable amount of accuracy.

Course Materials: Colored pencils and drawing paper or a sketch pad.





October 2018: I’ve Always Wanted to Draw a Kitten

Tuition: $20

In this class, you’ll learn how to draw an adorable kitten on gray paper using a limited palette of color. Discover the joys of working on a medium-dark paper and drawing light and dark values. You’ll also see how to draw hair and eyes for a realistic kitten portrait.

Course Materials:

Colored Pencils (any brand)
Medium Dark Drawing Paper. Canson Mi-Teintes Steel is recommended.





November 2018: I’ve Always Wanted to Draw Something Reflective

Tuition: $20
