What: Email Drawing Class

That’s right. A class by email. I’ll send you a lesson each week with step-by-step instructions.

Each lesson is a complete mini-tutorial with illustrations and instructions, as well as special tips unique to the subject, the paper, the lesson, and other details.

Class starts when you enroll! The materials list with the reference photo and line drawing will be sent when your email is added to the list, followed by the first lesson in 24 hours. Then you’ll receive one lesson per week until the class is completed.

Who: Anyone Interested in Drawing Horses or Using Colored Pencils

If you enjoy drawing with colored pencils, drawing horses, or learning, then this class is for you. It will cover the basics of layering, working from light to dark, and pencil strokes. That makes it ideal for new artists.

But it’s also a great way to brush up on existing skills for colored pencil artists at any level.

Email classes are available at two levels.

The Basic Package is self-guided. You receive lessons each week, complete with full instructions and illustrations, but you can finish each lesson at your own pace. Each lesson is written in the style you’ve come to be familiar with through my blog articles and tutorials, but there is no personal instruction from me.

The Basic Package is $50.

The Premium Package gives you everything in the Basic Package plus the opportunity to ask me any question you might have about the lessons.

The Premium Package is $150.

Which Package Should You Choose?

If you prefer to work on your own, without interaction, then the Basic Package is the package for you. It’s ideal for artists who have experience with colored pencil, but may be wanting to try a new subject.

If you prefer to work one-on-one with a teacher, then the Premium package is for you.

This well-thought-out course allowed me to learn techniques with textures I’d not attempted before, and now I can move forward with confidence to do so much more. The possibilities are endless!

  2. I thoroughly enjoyed this course and couldn’t wait for the next installment. Despite not having the same materials as Carrie (I’m in France), I was very pleased with the result using Polychromos pencils and pastel paper in a shade more brown than grey. The instructions were excellent and with the accompanying photos left little to chance. It was a great opportunity to ‘work’ with Carrie despite being half a world away!
