Unless otherwise requested, all artwork is shipped by United States Postal Service. Priority Mail with signature confirmation and full insurance is the standard method of shipment. We use the United States Postal Service for two primary reasons.
First, signature confirmation provides a tracking number so the package can be tracked throughout its travels. It also requires a signature, so no package is left on a doorstep or outside a building. You will not need to worry about your portrait being left unattended or outside if you are not at home when it arrives.
Secondly, the United States Postal Service is the only shipping company I have dealt with that allows full insurance on artwork. Not merely 'the cost of supplies' or the 'appraised value', but full retail value. I personally have never had a problem with lost or delayed shipments, but it is great to know the United States Postal Service values my work as much as you and I do.
In addition, the USPS is just plain FAST. I once dropped a 20 inch by 24 inch, fully packaged oil paintng at a drop station in Wichita, Kansas at 3 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon. Delivery was attempted in Michigan on Monday morning!
By the way, the cost for that package? Under $100!
Art Trading Cards are shipped by First Class Mail through the United States Postal Service. Bulk orders of art trading cards may be shipped Priority Mail. This determination will be made based on the size of the package and the weight of the package.
If you prefer UPS, FedEx or another carrier, I will be happy to accomodate you, but I very highly recommend the United States Postal Service.
