Quarter Horse Art

Dudley Time #1

7" x 5" Oil on Canvas Panel
Private Collection

Dudley Time is a Quarter Horse halter horse who lives in Pennsylvania. He has earned 50 AQHA Combined Performance and Halter points, has 2 ROMs for Youth and Amateur and is a two-time qualifier for the AQHA World Show. In addition, he has twice won All Around AQHA Youth Championships, and Pennsylvania State 4-H Horse Show Champion. In 2005, he was the Reserve Champion at the All American Youth Horse Show.

Dudley's portrait as a Christmas gift for his owner from his owner's mother, who provided numerous photographs of this very photogenic horse.

This particular portrait was almost the first miniature portrait I ever painted. It missed the official standards by 11 square inches. The maximum size for miniatures in the United States is 24 square inches (4" x 6") and this one was 35 square inches (5" x 7").
