If you’re in need of a little inspiration from outside yourself—and we all need that some times—you might want to take a look at the 2016 Member Show at Ann Kullberg’s website.
Every spring, Ann hosts a member show. The 2016 Member Show is full of wonderful examples of colored pencil art of all types, in all styles, and covering a range of subjects. (Other shows are also available for viewing online.)
Then you might want to consider submitting work to the 2017 Member show. The deadline for entry is August 1. Right around the corner. Here are the details.
What: 17th Annual COLOR Magazine Member Show
Entry Deadline: As I already mentioned, the entry deadline is Monday, August 1, 2016.
Who Is Eligible: Subscribers to Ann Kullberg’s COLOR Magazine. That includes print subscriptions and digital subscriptions. There’s no cost to enter the member show.
What? You’re not a subscriber to Ann’s magazine? Not to worry! Subscribing is fast and easy. PDF download subscriptions are $3.89. Print subscriptions are $7.39. Either way, you get a great monthly magazine full of demonstrations, critiques, and other regular features for colored pencil artists at all levels.
I must confess that I’m a bit bias about this publication, since I have written for it in the past. But if you want more information, read all about it here.
Drawings must be 100% colored pencil.
Drawings must be created from your own reference photos.
One entry per artist.
The Technical Stuff
Your entry must be named with your first and last name. For example, if I were to submit an entry, it would have to be named CarrieLewis.jpg. Title and other information about the drawing is included in the entry form.
Entry images must also be 800 pixels wide and no larger than 2 MB in size. Ann recommends www.resizeyourimage.com for help with resizing images, but you can also use Photoshop, Irfanview, or your favorite photo processing software to resize images.
