Week 22, 2007
The week began with lightning and ended with the skies.
On Monday, late in the evening, I painted two versions of the same basic lightning composition and using the same colors. The results were quite markedly different, due to the use of a cotton swab in the second piece.
By the end of the week, the sale of a 'big sky' painting on eBay and the buyer's remark triggered another sky study painting and the idea to do a series of sky and cloud studies.
In between, one of the best ACEO Landscapes to date appeared on the drying shelf. "Pond" was a long-term project that went through at least one ugly phase and was considered as a candidate for the circular file once or twice.
In total, seven landscapes and/or sky scapes were completed for the week.
